Mambo and Styling Classes with the 2nFro team.Every WednesdayBachataThe Skillful Passion Well known for drawing attention, the bachata is a dance perfected by those who thirst for passion and heat. In its finest form, this dance demands confidence and sensuality in lead and follow. There are differing forms of bachata but in a class setting the basics are just as simple as those found in salsa or cha cha. The bachata is recommended for all who wish to spice up their latin dance repertoire. Cha-ChaThe Flawless Fun If you need an excuse to get out of the house, go latin dancing, but more specifically: do some cha-cha. Whether you use the horizontal or vertical style of this dance, cha cha caters to all ages and all levels of dancers. The basic steps of cha-cha along with the correct rhythm in the song allow for a fun filled dance. Many are familiar with the Cha-Cha-Cha! saying but in your first cha-cha class you will see exactly where the steps match the words. This is a lively and uplifting dance that makes beginners look like pros and pros look like gods. SalsaThe Perfect Conversation If there ever were a more perfect international language, it is salsa. Thousands of cities use this language to hold what many call a wordless conversation. Salsa is enjoyed in several styles; some that require beginning on different counts and others that push levels of creativity in form and precision. The salsa conversation however, is unique in that throughout the world, an underground movement has shaken many cities leaving the basic moves as a platform on which many have built salsa empires. This dance will engage not only the endorphins of both the amateur and intermediate dancer, but it will also leave one looking up local venues KizombaThe Ideal Blend No, this is not Zumba. It’s KIZOMBA! If you are not familiar with what this is you should definitely take the class as this dance is very unique. Both in its steps and closeness, kizomba reflects many characteristics of samba and zouk. The wonderful aspects about this dance are multivalued: it can be done to a quick or slow tempo, it brings partners together in a sensual and yet tasteful manner, and it is quickly taking Europe and the rest of the world by storm! Learning this dance is not only for the experienced but also for the newly inquisitive. With it’s great blend of Latin movements and its flexible style, kizomba may be the perfect thing you need to add some excitement to your week. StylingIcing on the Cake Learning how to express yourself through and during dance is a very important aspect of understanding the communication between two dancers. Different moves for both women and men can be electric, dominating, powerful and sensual. Everyone has their own “style†but taking a styling class allows one to hone a skill and perfect a craft that is uniquely theirs. In polishing your movements and learning new tips, styling class can only bring an air of freedom MamboThe Captivating Rythum Do not confuse mambo with salsa! Though they appear to be the same, salsa is danced on the first beat (on 1) with many turns and complicated moves whereas the mambo is danced “in clave†with body movement. In clave refers to an instrument that beats “on 2.†Though the off beat rhythm may feel different at first, mambo instructors will insist that this dance has a written instruction in the music. “The music tells you how to dance!†Some say it is difficult to learn the rare beauty of the mambo if one has a salsa background but with it’s music and elegance, the mambo remains the sophisticated fast moving dance of Latin rhythm that will strengthen a dancer’s awareness. ReggaetonThe Sensual Magnetism If you want to look sexy AND dance sexy with or without a partner, dancing to reggaeton would be a brave first step in the right direction. This style of dancing is not recommended for the young’ins as it is often suggestive and very sensual. With that warning pushed aside however, this is a great way to let that inner sexy out! Dancing to reggaeton is not a disproportionate dance; both partners bring what they have to the floor. The best advice given for entering this class and going out to the club is to let loose and relax. It is agreed among most Latin dancers that taking this class certainly couldn’t hurt you.
